Firstly, I am not new to Bose products. I have been an owner of the Acoustic Wave for 13 years and I have experienced some OEM car installations as well.
Now, my Acoustic Wave stopped playing CDs about 5 years ago, I use it to amplify my portable XM receiver. The Bose car stereos I've heard were mediocre at best (comparatively speaking.

Secondly, I have a pair of $140 cordless Sennheiser cans for TV listening and they are good.( thanks Amazon)

So, I needed a pair of good quality in-ear headphones for listening to audio on my computer ( with hi-fi sound card) and seldomly to my Zune while tread milling.

I was put off by the price of these Bose phones for a long time, but eventually my curiosity took over and I plunged a hundred smackers into it.
What a garbage!. The ear-fitting system is most likely the worst one can come up with. None of the inserts can comfortably fit into my ears, and that's the first time I have had this problem and I am 37,- I've had plenty of phones in my lifetime. The sound quality is nowhere a 100 dollar level.

My recent purchase of headphones for Zune ( the OEM ones lasted less then a year)- was a pair of $20 Sonys from Le Target Boutique. So, simply comparing bits-to-bits I can say : Sony has clearer highs , very definitive mids and clear thumping lows. Bose has none of it. It cannot play the clearest of mp3s. The bass is non-existent, mids are watered down whiskey and highs are come-and-go.

I cannot imagine how Bose can survive in this market selling the over-priced mediocrity to people . What is Bose's business plan? To reach the highest levels of boredom and suckiness? How can an American engineer come to work day-in day-out and result in 17th century advanced audio technology? Are all people in Massachusetts like this? How can Sony ( or even microsoft) sell me for 20 dollars the product that is far more advanced then this garbage?

So, at first I was going to send the phones back to the seller (Amazon's affiliate), but rather then paying 15% restocking and dealing with customer service I am going to hold on to the phones and show it to everyone who comes through my house and let them see what kind of garbage they may encounter of Bose. Here I will have a counter-promotion to Bose's claims in advertisement. Let America know .

My husband has the real Bose TriPort In Ear Headphones and when I compared them side by side the difference in sound quality was substantial!

I really really dislike these headphones. I can't wait to replace them. These are the "NEW" ones with the black and white cable.

I use them mostly when I am flying with minimal head movement. Yet, they ae constantly falling out of my ears. I spend more time positioning and re-positioning these obnoxious little buds, I could just spit.

I don't have huge ears like, say, Barack Obama. They are pretty normal. But these little devils spill out with every turn of my head. I hate them.

The sound is okay: not "WOW!" like you expect from Bose. Maybe it's because these buggers sit outside the ear canal cradled in the outer ear. I hate them.

This is not from Bose apparently. The headphones are broken, and didn't even work. My lawyer already started preparing bring a lawsuit against this.
